The Benefits
The perceived health benefits:
1. There are numerous web sites one could go to where you can read papers from qualified health professionals around the world, each will tell you that there is indeed many benefits from drinking a glass of wine or two per day, and they will quote the ‘French paradox’ The French diet is not all too different than most Western diets yet (according to Serge Renaud, university of Bordeaux) the French have a 35% less rate of cardiovascular disease; and an 18-24% reduction in death rates from cancer. (Epidemiology, March, 1998) What the study fails to point out though is that (from recent research) the French people have one of the highest levels of kidney failure due to the over indulgence of alcohol.
2. It is a scientific fact that red wine has Polyphenols. Polyphenols in general are found to lower cholesterol, and improve the ratio of LDL to HDL cholesterol. They lower blood pressure, lessen risks of cancer, stimulate the immune system and have antibacterial properties. Wine also contains resveratrol, which helps suppress cancer. The red grapes that go into red wine also have bioflavonoids, which are antioxidants and help prevent cancer to begin.
3. What is wine doing? The wine is altering the blood lipid levels. It lowers the total cholesterol count and raises the high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels. In simple terms, it keeps the blood vessels clean. In fact, the Polyphenols help keep the arteries clear from plaque invasion.
4. Alcohol wine is processed through the body very quickly whereas the Polyphenols in de-alcoholised or wine with the alcohol removed goes on working longer.
Remember de-alcoholised wine:
Lowers cholesterol levels
Helps the fight against heart disease
Less than half the calories compared to alcoholic wine
Great for weight watchers
Beneficial in inhibiting arteriosclerosis
Clinical research indicates it lowers the risk of cancer
Can be enjoyed by the whole family
Safety first and lead by example:
It is a known fact that children grow up mimicking their parents, therefore teach your children while you have them, that they can enjoy life without the need to consume alcohol ‘all the time’ that there is indeed a very wise alternative.
How many of our children have to die on our roads each year through the consumption of alcohol before we say enough is enough?
The myth and misconception:
The myth is that once the alcohol is removed so is the taste! Remember what we said above, that taste was the main reason that 85% of the people surveyed stated that this was the reason they drank wine if this was the case then we would be wasting your time and our money trying to convince you to buy our products. It is a misconception that de-alcoholised wine does not taste as good. The traditional wine drinkers that have tried our many products have been most impressed with the taste in fact pleasantly surprised.
